Gift exchange gifts under 300 baht: 5 ideas people actually use
Three hundred baht is enough to make someone grin when they tear the paper. Five gift exchange ideas under 300 baht, each with a real, dated price, and the three gifts people least want to unwrap.

Last updated 19 October 2026 by Tim Grassin, founder and head pastry chef at Ondine.
Short answer: for a gift exchange under 300 baht, buy one small thing that gets used: drip coffee bags for the coffee drinker (160 baht), a bag of good loose-leaf tea (270 baht), a jar of coffee blossom tea for the curious one (150 baht), a box of three madeleines for the office sweet tooth (290 baht), or a sheet of stickers paired with something else (100 baht). Skip photo frames, piggy banks and the red cookie tin. They are the three gifts people least want in a 2025 Thairath Poll.
You know the moment. The numbers are drawn, the paper comes off, and the whole office watches the face. You want that face to light up. Not to do the polite smile.
Three hundred baht is enough for that. You just have to pick something people use, not something that needs a shelf. Every example below has a real price, checked on 19 October 2026.
300 baht is a normal budget, not a cheap one
Up to 300 baht came second in a Thairath Poll published on 25 December 2025, at 27.81% of 2,667 respondents. Only 300 to 500 baht beat it, at 42.31%. Thairath describes the under-300 crowd as the people who go for laughs and joining in the fun.
So nobody will look at a 300 baht gift and think you skimped. What they will notice is whether it is something they want.
Three gifts people least want to unwrap
The same poll asked which gift exchange gifts people least want to unwrap. The top three:
- Photo frames or albums: 25.67%
- Piggy banks: 22.71%
- The red cookie tin: 21.99%
Our read, not the poll's: the common thread is that each one needs a place to sit (the tin usually outlasts the cookies), and nobody has the space. A gift that gets drunk, eaten or used avoids that problem. For the full list and house rules for running the exchange, see our guide to Secret Santa gifts under 500 baht.

5 gift exchange ideas under 300 baht, by who might draw it
You never know who will draw your gift, so pick something most of the office would enjoy. These are sorted by the kind of person, not ranked.
1. For the coffee drinker: a pack of drip coffee bags. For the colleague whose day starts with a second cup. Drip bags turn a desk into a pour-over bar with just hot water. For example, Akha Ama Coffee's WANWAN drip coffee bags, a medium roast in a pack of four, are 160 baht on its own site. Tip: at 160 baht there is room to pair it with idea 5.
2. For the tea drinker: a bag of loose-leaf tea. A good tea is a small calm moment every afternoon, and every cup is a little hello from whoever gave it. For example, Monsoon Tea's Chao Phraya Blend is 270 baht for the 50 g bag on its own site (the 50 g tin is 370 baht, over the cap). Tip: choose the bag size, and wrap it in bright paper so it still feels like a present.
3. For the curious one who has tried everything: coffee blossom tea. Some people are hard to surprise. Tea made from dried coffee flowers usually does it. For example, Akha Ama Coffee's Coffee Blossom, a 10 g jar, is 150 baht on its own site. Tip: add a one-line note saying what it is, in case they have not seen it before.
4. For the office sweet tooth: a box of small cakes. A box that gets opened at the desk and passed around makes the gift everyone's gift. This is what we make. Ondine bakes madeleines in Bangkok: small shell-shaped cakes with a crisp golden edge and a soft middle. The Petite 3 holds three madeleines for 290 baht and goes in an Ondine logo bag with a ribbon and a wish card, so there is nothing to wrap.

5. For laughs: a sheet of stickers, paired with something. The poll's under-300 crowd is there for the fun, and stickers are fun to fight over. For example, Monsoon Tea's Biodiversitea Stickers, illustrated with native plants and wildlife for water bottles and laptops, are 100 baht on its own site. Tip: on its own a sheet of stickers feels thin, so pair it with idea 3 for 250 baht.
The example prices come from each seller's own site, checked on 19 October 2026, and they can change. We have no tie to these sellers, and the ideas are sorted by who might draw them, not ranked.
A note on our own idea: Ondine makes madeleines, so we have an obvious interest in idea 4. We placed it by situation, not at the top, and the poll figures are Thairath's, not ours.

A small gift feels generous when it is wrapped with care
The price is the same either way. The effort shows.

- Take the price tag off. Our Thai gift etiquette guide explains why presentation counts as much as price.
- Wrap in one bright colour and add a ribbon. One colour looks deliberate. Five patterns look rushed.
- Write two lines. A short wish on a card turns a 150 baht gift into your gift. Stuck? Here is what to write on a New Year card.
- Stay under the cap. If the rule is 300, a 290 baht gift is fair. A 600 baht gift makes everyone who kept to the cap feel awkward.
- Buy one good thing, not three random ones. One choice made for a person beats a bag of fillers.
- Plan early. Decide in the first week of December, not the morning of the party.

A box for the gift exchange
We bake every morning and deliver across central Bangkok by Grab Express (roughly Bang Sue to Bang Na, and Thon Buri to Bang Kapi), Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Sundays, often the same day. Every box goes in an Ondine logo bag with a ribbon and a wish card that carries your message.
The Petite 3 (฿290) holds three madeleines, just under a 300 baht cap.

Questions
What can I buy for a gift exchange under 300 baht?
Pick something that gets used, not something that needs a shelf: a pack of drip coffee bags for a coffee drinker, a bag of good loose-leaf tea, a small jar of something unusual like coffee blossom tea, a box of small cakes for a sweet tooth, or a sheet of fun stickers paired with one of the others. The examples in this guide run from 100 to 290 baht, checked on 19 October 2026.
Is 300 baht enough for a New Year gift exchange?
Yes, and plenty of people pick it. In a Thairath Poll of 2,667 respondents published on 25 December 2025, 300 to 500 baht was the largest share at 42.31%, and up to 300 baht came second at 27.81%, which Thairath describes as the choice for people who go for laughs and joining in the fun.
Which gifts do people least want from a gift exchange?
In the same Thairath Poll, photo frames or albums came first at 25.67%, piggy banks second at 22.71% and the red cookie tin third at 21.99%. Our full list of what to skip is in the Secret Santa under 500 baht guide.
How do I make a 300 baht gift look more generous?
Take the price tag off, wrap it neatly in one bright colour, add a ribbon, and write two lines on a card. One small thing chosen for the person beats three random things in a bag. This is our advice, not the poll's.
Can I put two small gifts together?
Yes. A 100 baht sheet of stickers and a 150 baht jar of tea come to 250 baht and feel like a small kit. Check the total against your office cap before you wrap.
What comes with an Ondine Petite 3?
The Petite 3 holds three madeleines for 290 baht. It goes in an Ondine logo bag with a ribbon and a wish card that carries your message, so there is nothing to wrap.
